Spanish defender Castro Sito has signed a one-year contract with Ipswich. The 25-year-old impressed in two trial games and could make his debut against Cardiff on Saturday following an injury to Jason de Vos.
The former Racing Ferrol star initially rejected Town's contract offer but he told the club website: "Ipswich are a big club and I wanted to sign.
"There were a few contractual problems. Now the problems have been sorted out and I have agreed to sign."
IPSWICH Town's eagerly-awaited local derby clashes with Norwich City have both been switched to Sunday kick-offs. The first chance of establishing East Anglian dominance in the Championship campaign comes at Portman Road on September 18, with the return at Carrow Road on February 5.
Jim Magilton has been given more time by Ipswich to decide if he will accept a new offer of a new one-year deal. Boss Joe Royle told the club website: "He's asked for a bit more time to make what is a crucial decision for him.
"Jim is 36 and at a crossroads in his career. He has to make up his mind whether to carry on playing or move into coaching, or try and do both."
Magilton came to Portman Road on loan from Sheffield Wednesday before signing permanently in March 1999.
